Paski Vineria Popolare – Great food, amazing wines

Paski Vineria Popolare – Introduction

Anything associated with Australia’s most energetic wine importer is bound to be exciting and this place is no exception.

Our friend, Giorgio de Maria is the owner of the eponymous canine, Paski and fills in his spare time racing around Europe expanding his wine importing empire.

Paski’s credentials are amplified by having Mattia Dicati on the floor (he is also a wine importer with a fine collection of Italian wines in his portfolio) and Enrico Tomelleri who previously toiled in the 10 William St kitchens as the chef.

The downstairs area serves as both a bar and a bottle shop where you can settle in for a snack and a bottle of very well-priced wine. Feel free to wander along the rows of bottles if you are familiar with the offerings or ask the staff to recommend something if you are not – they will be sure to find you something interesting.

Upstairs is the area they call Paski Sopra and here you can settle in to a full scale meal. Don’t forget to admire the large mural featuring a modern interpretation of The Last Supper where everyone is drinking wine and Paski is a prominent attendee!

We will soon add some more about the food and wine when we get time, but meantime we can recommend this place for a fun night out and some seriously good wine.
