Lumen People – Relaxed Venue

Lumen People – Introduction

Lumen People is Emma Sheahan and Marichi Clarke’s bright, cheery venue in North Melbourne where you can drop in at any time of day for a coffee, a snack or a full meal.

We have now tried a daytime snack, an evening meal and have just returned from a delightful breakfast where we both enjoyed a granola plate with rhubarb and yoghurt as well as a very well-made espresso coffee.

They take their coffee seriously here and always have a diverse selection of coffee beans as you can see from the photos below.

The House Blend was from Seven Seeds on our most recent visit.

And on the same visit to Lumen, the single origin offerings included a Kenyan Kainamui PB from Reuben Hills in Sydney and another Kenyan from Made of Many.

The Kainamui PB is roasted by Reuben Hills in Sydney and is based on the common Kenyan coffee bean varieties of SL 28, Batian and Ruiru 11.

The Kii AA is the wet mill in the Kirinyaga District of Kenya on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya where the beans from a large number of producers with tiny lots bring their beans for processing.

We need to add a note about the breakfast we had it was simply delicious. We ordered the granola with yoghurt and rhubarb. The dish was fresh and quite vibrant providing a substantial and delicious start to the day. We accompanied it with a very well-made espresso.

We look forward to future visits here.

As a side note we got to know about this venue as they buy some of the natural wines that we import from France, so you can dine here knowing that there is ethical wine available.

You can get a good idea of the type of food and wine that they serve by heading over to their Instagram site here.

We have also included this venue in our story entitled Melbourne -Great Places to Eat and Drink.
