Good Days: Great Food

Good Days: Introduction

Good Days is a relatively new small restaurant in Brunswick on Sydney Road. It turns out excellent bowls of Vietnamese food where every component has been treated with respect and the flavours are strong and integrated with each other.

We have for decades been impressed by the selection of Vietnamese food available in Melbourne. There is a very strong selection of restaurants that were all originally in Victoria St, Richmond. Restaurants such as the Pho Dzung was a place for a daily visit when we were doing an IT project at Vic Roads which was quite close.

Now, the restaurants have spread out over Melbourne and you can find excellent examples of their food from the centre of the city to the far suburbs.

And so it was recently we were in Brunswick and were looking forward to a Vietnamese restaurant that we had on our list that was in Sydney Road. When we arrived quite early for lunch it was already nearly full but luckily a table for two was still available and it soon became ours.

We decided to order a bowl of pho each as this is our benchmark for the broth which must be loaded with flavour and the noodles which must have the correct taste and texture.

We also decided to add two Vietnamese rolls to our order as we could see other tables and people at the bar enjoying theirs.

The Vietnamese rolls arrived very promptly. They were divided in two as you can see in the photo below.

As you can see above the rolls (cut in half) were accompanied by a bowl of sauce that complimented the rolls perfectly.

Once we had finished the rolls it didn’t take long for the pho to arrive.

The photo above is of the chicken pho at Good Days which was served in a strong broth with loads of flavour that perfectly enhanced the flavour of the chicken.

We loved it.
