Epicerie Paysanne – Introduction
Probably we saw more changes in Beaune since our last visit to France than any other town. While there were still a few post-covid shuttered doors there was so much energy and so many exciting new shops, none more so than the charming @epiceriepaysanne.
Great produce, all locally sourced and so of course seasonal. The other very important ingredient in any store such as this is the staff and here they were delightful and very anxious to accommodate our requests.
As you can see in the photos below they stock a wide range of products.
By this stage in our journey, with one of us not well, we were mainly cooking rather than eating in restaurants so sadly had to miss revisiting our favourite haunts in this wonderful town. But being able to shop here for vegetables, eggs and dairy products was a saviour.
And we loved the 7:10pm closing time – somehow 7pm is never achievable. Those last 10 minutes make all the difference.
