Arto der Haroutunian

Every book Arto der Haroutunian has produced has been a classic. His thoughtful, erudite writing has helped explain to recalcitrant Westerners the subtlety, complexity and diversity of Middle Eastern and North African cooking.

His credentials are impeccable! He was born and raised in Syria in the town of Aleppo (a great food city). He moved to England and studied architecture, which is his primary profession. He also writes about food when he is not working on the composition of a music score or dashing off a painting for the next exhibition. He is a true polymath.
