A good, fun place to eat where some very good Asian food can be tried amid noisy, yet amiable surroundings. You will find it nestled under the Medina Apartments. The chef, Kylie Kwong used to be in charge of the stoves at Neil Perry's Wockpool but is now a media star as well as stellar chef. The dishes here need to be selected carefully if there are only two of you dining because the servings are huge. A plate of french beans is massive and would be enough for a table of six or eight. Similarly a dish of wok-tossed fresh mushrooms. The Sichuan-style chicken that gives a nod to the Yellow Door in Hong Kong is a traditional white-cooked chicken served with chilli sauce that is pleasant without any developed complexity. A dish of cuttlefish with coriander, basil and ham is very good. There is a short but well-chosen wine list including a great Rockford GSM.Be warned that it is noisy and you sit on stools so don't plan a long night.
